My lil black rooftop section probly does retain a lot of heat....

But I was in Waukegan all weekend and it is cold as balls up there still!

This week-end was actually quite warm, even hot. It's supposed to go back to the 50' tomorrow though. :(
And in fact all my trees are starting to have leaves, except the elms. But as the real elms in the neighborhood don't have leaves neither I am not too worried.

Anyway I like you little guy very much! :)

Thanks a bunch fellers!

You know...
I let that low branch run this year and it got bigger than the top ones!

Didn't notice till now!

Would you cut the short dead trunk clean off?
Or make it a dear trunk feature?

I'm only keeping that little low branch to keep the base alive on that side....

Thoughts?

Maybe carve it, and when the mini trunk on the right is stronger flush cut it and raise the tree a bit so there's a nice half over callused hole between 'em trunks.
I can draw it if you like.

The bare dead trunk on the right.

Flush cut..

Or carved?

Sorce

I would cut it first only about 1/2 - 3/4 inch away from the main trunk. There is a good chance it is hollow inside and if so it would be a lot easier to flush cut and carve into creating a cavity that drains at the bottom. Little bit of sealer and presto. If it is not hollow flush cutting proper is going to take a few slow passes to maintain the curvature but would also look arite and possibly heal over.

Please!

I cut that myself I think before I removed it...so it is pretty solid.

The scar on the main trunk is big...
Too big?

So having the small one there, also damaged, could bring the scale of the big old lost trunk down where it will make more sense....if that makes sense!

Thanks!

I'm afraid you'll have to forgive me my drawing skills and the stuff printed on the other side of the paper tho :/
Hope you like it!

That 'hole' is where the dead nub is/was, with bigass callus rings ofc. It's supposed to be 3d lol, so the higher line is in the back

Love it!

Thank you for the drawing...
It is way better than the text made me imagine!

Actually...
I'm kicking around keeping that tiny one,
Not unlike anyone else with a branch like that!, but was waiting for it to be give me growth and a vision.

You nailed it!

That is exactly how I can use it!

It keeps my base healthy all around, gives some perspective, and is not like anything I've seen! Perfect!

Hell yeah Bro!

Hey...I started a new job today...at a pizza factory...

The machinery is Dutch, so they flew a bunch of you'se out here to build it!

(is this racist? Lol)

I'm gonna blaze one with them!
For you!
Hahahaha!

For real...I would love to see your vision come through in this.
I will do my best!

Thanks!

Gratz on the new job dude, whatcha gonna do in the pizza palace? Tasting?

You should smoke one with em Dutchies! That's very gezellig. Also ask them about bitterballen or bitterballs. There ain't a Dutchie who's not in love with those!

And have a nice weekend
