I received this baobab from my dad in June 2021.
This is my 1st baobab and I'm keen on learning more about it.20210620_170520.jpg

Pic as it came. I do not like the exposed roots at all. I did the repot during the week. And I've cut half of the tubers off in order to get it much deeper in the pot. 20210917_210012.jpg20210917_210647.jpg

After repot -it already looks so much more appealing to me. I cut of the smallest tuber completely and placed it in the side of the pot hoping it might sprout as well20210924_104929.jpg
My plan is to do a trunk chop above the 1st 4 branches and start developing the tree from there

I welcome any advise and information on baobabs as I'm aiming to make this a fun and informative progression thread.

So for now, I'm.still not giving any water. But the worst of the winter is over and night temperatures are decent now. Today the tree moved outside.
Average seems to be around mid October that they start pushing buds/foliage
Will start watering when I see signs of green.

Will only do the trunk chop when there I leaves. And attempting the seemingly impossible cutting to grow.
From a bunch of articles I have read some people do have success with cuttings but they need to have leaves on to stand a chance

Haven't done work on this tree yet.
Tries some cuttings and I was 100% unsuccessful
Got loads of trunk girth over the last 2 seasons

Loving spring
This tree will move outside in the week,
1st year that it is leaving out so generously
Doing a ground layer to try and get some new roots on that side.
I will still leave it alone this season. Will repot before the next season as I want to still get it a bit deeper into the ground20231010_083942.jpg20231008_233305.jpg
