I bought this 1 1/2 foot tall Ligustrum tree from my local Flea Market just recently.
The thing I'm worried about is I took it from a pot that was 3 times the size of the one it's in now.
The roots were so packed in the soil, there was more roots than soil.
I put it in this smallish Bonsai pot.
Do you think it's healthy for doing a lot of root pruning on this type of tree?
Too small of pot?
I saw ants on this tree too, any recommendations?
I added a few picture URL's below because it said the picture was too large :(.

I've had some experience with privets. While I think the pot size is OK the soil is not! It appears that you are using regular potting soil which kills bonsai. Do a little research on bonsai soil and get the tree into a good, non-organic, fast - draining bonsai mix asap.
As far as styling, the tree is way too tall for the trunk size. Privets respond very well to severe cut backs and bud easily everywhere. Be brave and make this into a bonsai.

Do you think the tree will be okay till around June/July in that soil?
I will be heading to Wigerts Bonsai Nursery during the summer.
