Did the yearly needle plucking today, in preparation for the new buds to open.
I pluck needles on this pine pretty aggressively, maybe less than a two-needle pine though. I don't want any of the new buds to get shaded out. A few little buds in the interior had been, or just aren't developing from last year, so they get cut off. Strong buds that get too long will be reduced in size before they open, this usually only applies to about a half dozen or so.
