Does liquidamber respond well to refining techniques similar to maples ?
Checked the ew growth for central stems to pinch abd its a different shape with multiple stalks coming out of each bud. Would reducing those to twos result in energy distribution ? How about fertilisation plan for liquidamber in development and refining ?

Think it’s always going to be coarser than a maple. From my limited experience, they need to grow out then be cut back to a node or two. @Zach Smith is a member here with quite a bit of experience with our southern native species. Not sure what you have over there.

Liquidamber respond to the same techniques but will never have the same ramification of maple bonsai.
Leaves do reduce but starting from a much larger base so will not be real small.
Liquidamber seems to be better as a largish bonsai to suit the longer internodes and larger leaves.
