This is another Liquidambar I collected two years ago. It needs to be repotted deeper this spring- this I know. I'm planning to repot next week or so, and to remove that bottom most branch.
From what I have read, Liquidumbar are difficult to bonsai on account of their large leaves. Was it just a series of defoliation that gets the leaves to become small?
Update: Doing the balancing act between top growth and bottom branches. I'm going to cut the top back hard this year, and potentially this summer if the bottom left branch continues to weaken.
