Lately I've enjoyed working with my seki or tabletop alcove.

The pine is japanese red, the scroll is rising sun, the figurine is of a scholar enjoying tea as they contemplate.

I woke up this morning thinking about the elements needed to put this together....so thought I should share with my BN friends....:)

As always comments welcome

Very nice...I like it. My only suggestion is purely horticultural. That JRP literati could use at least 50% less foliage and I bet just pulling older needles would almost get you there. Please keep posting these displays:).

I think the foliage needs to be reigned in to present as a bunjin instead of a young pine.

I agree with the others, but I really feel this display, and the relaxing feeling it gives me.
Thanks Dick.:)
