I think you can do away with the topmost bits and style it well from the bottom 2.

Kinda .....sorta....?? I would say "definitely". I say live with it for a while. Try the "towel hiding the part you MIGHT want to cut" trick. Cover the potential removal, walk straight away from it , at 20 feet , spin around and look at the tree. Normally, it takes a couple of tries, but it works every time for me.
