This small pine was grown by a good friend from Souther California. Larry Ragle. He judges the Kazari at the Clark Center.

During the seminar he brought about 6 small pines to sell. They are all about 10 inches tall with 1/2 inch trunks. The crowns have really good branches and it should be fairly easy to pick out a good line and branch structure to ramify.

$15.00 bucks on this one.

This one will get some wire over the weekend.

Pictures to follow.

Al,
Eager to see when Literati will apply to this pine. :)

Literati is kind of a copout to me, there is no other style this tree will lend itself to, so lets make a literati out of it, you can make a literati out of a willow. Literati looks like a lamp post to me, not a tree.

Great literati are impressive awe inspiring trees with wonderful artistic grace .... but then again if all you know how to appreciate are cookie cutter pines with little to no artistic interest in them I can see how that could be hard to understand ... then again a lot of people do copout and use literati as an excuse for many trees that aren't worthy....

They call um literati for a reason....look it up. Being in Oklahoma I can understand never seeing a literati tree. I have seen many and can appreciate what goes into a real masterpiece.

Still have not worked on this tree. I instead over the weekend worked on both pyracantha's and repotted those. I had noticed that things were starting to push hard and I only had a week or two left to get things repotted.

Will be posting updated pictures of both trees soon.

Actually I have two literati trees to work on this weekend. The pine and a foemina juniper. Both shall prove to be challenging.

I'll be interested in your interpretation of this tree. I'm not seeing a literati. Even in the best circumstances literati are tough to accomplish, to develop a small one, that will be a real challenge.

Weve seen that you have been busy according to your other posts, but still wondering if you were able to get around to the literatis thisast weekend?

Yes I did one. Not the pine but did the Foemina juniper. Pictures later.

Beauty of Literati difficult for some/many to grasp. With little foliage to hide anything they must be good to succeed. Cookie cutter trees this is not so;). With much foliage much can be hidden.
