I was having the itch something fierce to do some work and these are routinely cut back to nothing at this time every year here in Vegas. I picked this up for $1.50 it has about a 1" trunk and is now about 4" tall.

My first question is about eventual pot color. The first pic is the color of flowers and leaves that this has. It is not mine but this is what it looks like in bloom.

Now here are a few pictures of the brutality inflicted on this poor plant today.

The last pic is a $.99 store strainer where it will spend the next summer

For pot color green is an obvious choice against the red blooms. But, a light terracotta could be a nice compliment since the red is already so fierce on its own.

Lantana can sure take a beating... Wire once the branches have just begun to lignify, when they are a nice light tan color.

The main task is going to be getting the blooms in the appropriate place. I'm still experimenting with techniques for this.
