I bought this at our club meeting the other day. Live oak. Trees are in good shape health wise. Nice and green. It was a 5 trunk turtle back forest that lost one of its trunks. There is a new tree growing however. Going to let it grow out more to increase in size (it has a way before it catches up). New species for me. Any and all tips appreciated.

Looking good! Different than the Live oak around here, they all have a Holly type of leaf.

What kind of "live oak" is this? That term can be confusing. Species name if possible.

Some things to think about:

Is this near completion, or are you planning more development?

FWIW, forests usually make more of a statement in a lower profile pot. If you're aiming to increase trunk size, this pot is OK.

At some point, you're going to have to think about significant root reduction, for a lower profile pot. Flatter pots will also push better nebari. Don't know how that will work in Arizona with more arid conditions.

Also, those trunks are rather straight and there is no really defined apex (the most effective forest compositions work like one big tree--with accompanying cohesive apex and branch placement.

Don't know what species your using, but leaves on this are pretty big. Can they be reduced?
