I would think so considering the thrashing they get by hurricanes every year here in the south.I saw this at HD. Can Quercus Virginiana be trunk chopped If there are no branches below the chop?View attachment 414998 The tree is 1” diameter & 5-6’ tall.
Where's the photo of the tree itself?I saw this at HD. Can Quercus Virginiana be trunk chopped If there are no branches below the chop?View attachment 414998 The tree is 1” diameter & 5-6’ tall.
Ok.. so it’s not just me.Apparently you got a West Coast Live Oak, not Quercus virginiana
That would be awesome and at least possible if not probable. Oaks hybridize fairly easily.Looks like a hybrid of Quercus agrifolia and Quercus virginiana. Long narrow leaf of virginiana and spikes of agrifolia. Maybe @PaulH could tell us. He know his oaks pretty well. Could be just the age of the tree also. Leaves on young oaks often look different from when they get some age.
Edit: Sorry I see Paul has already commented.
