Got to admit I've quite enjoyed them so far. Just watched Micheal Phelps win his last race and ALMOST got a little teary eyed when he started crying talking to reporter after the race. I know Carl Lewis is up there but I think I'm on Micheal's side fore the greatest so far.
And Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh have been a blast watching, even though they aren't wearing the traditional garb

I have been watching them more this year than I have before now, and thouroughly enjoying them.

Man I am so glad I missed him crying. I will not argue that he is a great athlete, a fine competitor and an obvious winner, but come on now, whats with all men having to cry these days when they win, succeed or accomplish something great ? I am so sick of the feminazation of the human male. I remember back in the late 80's when the TV shows started with the strong woman weak male format, then it developed to dumb male and eventually missing male. All this crying by sports heros, I wonder if Carl Lewis cried, or the great cuban boxer Teofilo Stevens ever cried over their wins, doubt that. I could not see Ali crying after beating George Foreman either. To me that is just sickening, I see no great swelling of emotion, if Michael Phelps father or mother died and he cried in grief I could understand that and would think no less of him for crying at the loss of a beloved human relative, but crying because you won a medal, or your career is over, or your won your last race, give me a friggin' break, man up wimp.

haha It wasn't like the he had a complete breakdown, it was a tear or two.
He was getting interviewed along with the 3 other guys on the team and Brendan Hansen was talking about it being an honor swimming with the the greatest swimmer alive etc. and
Michael got emotional and then so did all the other guys. I thought it was a cool moment

Good thing you weren't around when I was telling my soon off to college daughter what a good person she was and what she meant to me the other day :D

I could be said that the major cause of "tarnished gold" is all the Brits that are winning :p

The Olympics have been great. I am a big fan of the NBA and out team is outstanding. I have been lucky enough to see the two best men swimmers in American history, Mark Spitz and Michael Phelps. All of our athletes are great ambassadors for this country.

Agreed
Well maybe except that US judo guy that got expelled for pot. Not that it's the end of the world, or going to help his chances, just for being a dumbass.
I know you probably hate it but I've enjoyed watching the women play basketball too. Being a UConn fan it's like a big reunion

Nice! I like Sherri Coale a lot. Her and Geno are a funny as hell when they get together

Heck of a win by Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor over the Chinese team. Looks like an all American gold medal game

Yeah that's who I'm talking about. Maybe I should have said The tall cute blonde and the shorter feisty brunette that runs around giving high fives to everyone in the crowd after a win.
I'll pulling for them big time to win their last game together today

When USA was playing the Czech republic girls Marketa Slukova and Kristyna Kolocova, it was very confusing who to cheer for.

Hmmm Czech them out, could root for them. It's funny, looking back at the days of Soviet domination, the women were well lets say less then nice to look at, todays athletes have some very pretty women/girls giving us a real show.
