Their last years convention was the first one I had ever been too. Got to watch Ryan Neil style a juniper. The best bonsai experience I have yet to date. Sure wish I could make this one, but probably not. Do you know where 2014 we be yet?

I just got this today...

"Walter Pall has just undergone emergency surgery which will keep him from traveling for some time, and he will not be able to attend our show. Very generously, renowned artist Dan Robinson (who is also an old friend of Walter's) from Washington State has agreed to take his place. It's a shift and we will all miss not having Walter here, but we are also so thankful to Dan for fitting us in his busy schedule."

I wish Walter speedy recovery.

You may hear or read about me having health problems.

Bad and good news:

I have had an minimal-invasive heart operation and now will get a bypass operation on the heart next week. The circumstances are good though.

I have NOT had a heart attack, I was only approaching one. I will be back home in about four weeks and able to work in the garden pretty soon afterwards.

I had to cancel a couple of events for the near future. By May/June I should be well able to travel and to do what I used to do - just a bit more relaxed. I look forward.

greetings
WP

Walter,

We will be praying for a safe operation and your speedy recovery.

I am sure you know lots of people will be disappointed w/o you there but given the circumstances, everyone will surely understand. There is always next time. :)

Stay healthy and thank you.

Walter, so sorry to hear about it. But you're right! It's both good and bad. I had a massive MI in 2008, so I'm happy you caught it in time!! Best of luck my friend!!

Thanks for the pics Dario. Looks like a great time. Great trees.

Do you know who belongs to the live oak you included?

Some boxwood for the workshop...a $125 workshop w/ Dan Robinson and these are included!!! The trees alone are worth that IMHO and Dan discussed the design and carved each one.

Yeah, that's a steal...don't tell the folks in charge, but they probably could have charged two times that, or more, and still filled up the workshop. Looks like an awesome convention...wish it was just a bit closer to me.
