I noticed buds about to pop so I repotted this one today. Top grew to about 2 foot last year. This Elm is from my yard probably 3-4 years old. In this little pot for 1 years and 2-3 years under the lawn mower. Two roots ended up several feet long.
Both roots were cut off and saved. I wrapped wire from top to bottom on both then crumpled them up into a messy ball. Potted them up as weird root cutting experiment. Sorry no pics of that part but will post next year if results are interesting.

I've thought about digging up elms just for the roots.
In the wild they do some crazy things.
