I found this behind my client's house this morning. Nick Lenz has a piece very similar. See what you guys have done. You've created MORE of a monster.

It caught my eye in the woods because it looks almost exactly like some piece I saw on one of the Nick Lenz sites you guys recommended. I'm just going to practice carving, torching, wire brushing and lime sulfering w/ different shade of gray.

Excellent, please post with the finished picture. I'd love to see you bring out the pelican in that piece of wood

Nick's pelican

I found the pic I was thinking of when I found my bird. This is from the gallery Will suggested. Oh by the way I just received the signed copy of Nick's 1997 book. He wrote "never say no to a Nelson".
I'll post some pics of my pelican later this weekend. Thanks again for the book suggestions folks.
