Hi,

I'm new here and I'm looking for a dead bonsai to use in a art project. A 10in tall dead Oak or Beech would be great, but it can be of any hardwood tree close to this heigth. I might want to see a picture of it before buying.

Yes, it's a dead bonsai not a bonsai in a deadwood style.

Thx,
Augusto

How much do you think will it cost to ship a dead tree to Brazil? Is it legal?

You've got lots of trees there, just find one locally. ;)

Customs would definitely seize it. Even if that tree is dead. You'd be introducing potential pests, or disease which could pose a threat to your local ecosystem. Besides, Brazil is a tree heaven wouldn't you think?

Sorry but first time I saw this is seemed like one of the money order scams or my rich unknown relative in Nigeria who left me millions... ;)

I didn't realize the guy was in Brazil......I'm up to my eyeballs in corpses right now....

You're scaring me. I hope not from that collection you are working on.

He lost like 15 big trees....like 3 footers.....it is sad......mostly Bald Cypress, but some Hackberry and Tridents.......But everything I have salvaged is actually in pretty good condition and vigorously putting out new growth with a little help from good old fish emulsion........

image.jpg this was before the bark turned black. Sharpes Pygmy. Was my favorite tree at one time. Still have. Thought about dipping it in wood preserver. 32 inches tall. I will ship to brazil for $500. Will take western union transfer.

Hi folks,

I'm just doing some research to an art project, nothing more, nothing less.

Maybe I'm a bit crazy, but I'm not that crazy and certainly I'm not rich. Happens that many things worth the cost to import. Ours local prices are expensive and the internal shipping rates cost almost the same as the international.

Yes, Brazil is the land of the trees, but we don't have oak or beech here and I'm more interested in this two. AFAIK it's legal import wood from USA to Brazil. I can import a easel or a chair, I 've done that.
