Looking for a holiday gift for my son!!!!

Does anyone have a shohin sized cork bark Chinese Elm or Zelcova they are interested in selling? My son is obsessed with the tree i attached here. He keeps asking for me to "GIVE" it to him. He is seven. I want to get him something he can call his own and that we can work on together.

Actually for me, elms grow faster than ficus.

Also consider Chinese ligustrum...they sometimes pop up at Walmart for $12-14 for the bigger "bonsai" (well worth it than the $9.99 ones).

I'd offer you one of my Cedar Elm but they are much bigger than what you have now (trunk chopped too) and will take a while (and advanced work) before it looks like a bonsai.

That's a great idea. There are a few bonsai related auction groups on facebook. I bet if you posted your need there, you'd get some people with stock to sell.
