Hello! I recently purchased a Sabina Juniper that I intend on grafting kishu shimpaku on during this next growing season. Looking for 4-6 kishu donors that are healthy and ideal for approach grafts. Thanks!

Evergreen Gardenworks has one gallon size specimens for $40 ready to go today. You could start cuttings off the gallon size plants for eventual use as approach grafts, or use the gallon size plant for scions for single point grafting.

Single point grafts work reasonably well with juniper.

I just checked on eBay. Sometimes you can find people selling shimpaku starters for cheap (like $60 for 10). Nothing there right now however.

Some starters I bought several years ago:

I have some kishu and shimpaku cuttings that I took mid summer. Some have rooted not sure how many though. If I pot them up now they could be ready by next spring if you can't find any.
