Earlier today I went to my local nursery here. It's not bonsai nursery, but they have a few bonsai floating around. I was really looking for a pine or a juniper when I came across this ficus. The price seemed unbelievable, so I had to snatch it up. Most of my trees are pretty small, so this is a huge one for me. I'm pretty sure I'm going to chop that middle branch because there's not really any movement to it and I don't want three branches coming from the spot and messing up the taper, but I'm looking for any other opinions and advice. Any thoughts?

Pardon the messy desktop, there's some debris from moving my succulents around.

Kennedy nice willow leaf, they are great trees and grow like weeds. They can take a large chop and will sprout back almost immediately. If this were mine I would chop it back like in this picture I have here and remove all the small branches leaving only the four larger ones., I am not much on the virtuals but I think you can get the idea. This tree would grow out lots of fine branches from each larger branch and make a great canopy on a small tree with a nice thick trunk.
