I had tried my hands at starting one from hand before with some seeds I got on Ebay, but didn't have any luck. I really wonder about the vitality of the seeds I got though. I broke them up into groups, labeled and used multiple techniques but none of the 30ish seeds did anything in the 100 or so days I gave them.

I would like to try again, but with seeds I know are fresh. I also wouldn't mind starting from a sapling if it would survive the shipping.

Shishigashira is a cultivar, so seeds aren't necessarily reliable. You'd want to look for cuttings or air-layers. Try to avoid grafted cultivars because the graft unions are often problematic. Check with Mark Comstock on FB, or maybe Matt Ouwinga.

Hello Sorce, not sure about Mr.Hot but I'd love to meet Ms.Hot.

Thanks, though I have to say, bonsai is way more sane than my normal projects. (Current being how big of a garden can I grow in my 18x25x14in TV stand)
