This one is plain Japanese Maple, not a cultivar. First picture is from early summer 2018. I’d already repotted it out of its original nursery can by this point.

Cleaned up a couple leftover dead bits remaining that’d been left on to allow for die-back. Also trimmed the edges of the most recently chopped area to stimulate callus growth. It’s due for the next trunk chop, but I need to think on it a spell first.

Repotted it today. Didn’t think to take a picture until after I’d already put the copper mesh back on to protect it from ravenous rodents and didn’t feel like taking it off again just for the picture. I’ll leave the mesh on until after I get it up on the bench for the summer.
