Maiden Air Layering Voyage

First try at air layering today. Expecting failure, using as education foremost.

Quercus robur - tried on two English oaks near my yard. Sphagnum, plastic, wired. Pictures are of the larger of the two. Clean cuts as I could. Fingers crossed though from what I’ve read oaks aren’t easy.

You certainly picked something difficult for your first attempt but you are already aware of that so I guess if these don't work out you won't be too disappointed. If you can get roots on these you can probably layer almost anything.
