Seed germinated spring of 2019, majority of growth this year, though. Trunk added 300% thickness. I measured it in 2019 at 0.10" and this year at just under 1/2".

Glad to see a thread on this guy... VERY well done... we are actually doing “Malus Seed Undertakings” this year. Mostly to sell out of the “family greenspace”.. but i plan on scouting through for the most attractive specimens. We’ve got two kinds of wild “johnny appleseed” variety.. two Kinds of indigenous crabapples, honeycrisps and red delicious

End of year. Almost 3/4" thick trunk. Needs a restyle and repot next year. Thinking of turning tree 45degree left, and using bottom right branch as trunk continuation.

Been a productive year for this tree. Next year im letting grow again. Pruning back to new leader, maybe start some ramification on low branches and some detail wiring. Just need to let it grow at this point!

Wow, havent updated this so far in the year. Been letting grow and thicken. Good growth so far. Will probably let this tree rip till mid july then chop to new leader. Left branch being let run to thicken and right branch a little more restrained.
