It's nice to see more folks getting into crabapples. They can be difficult to make into good bonsai, but the flowers make up for that. We need more collected flowering deciduous trees!!!

Anyone have a good way to keep large crabaple leaves in check for smaller sized displays?

There are some smaller leaf cultivars but even so... I appreciate them in the winter without leaves and then in the spring when they flower and the fall when there's fruit hanging...
The summer with the leaves... eh... I don't think you're going to get an image that will make you forget the scale.
