So my favorite trees are mame and shohin trees. While browsing the Japanese Mame Association website, I found a tree that I am in love with, although some people probably don't think this is a real bonsai. So here is the pic,

Not a bad little guy, I love the pot though. So do you all think this shimpaku could be labeled a bonsai?

Absolutely!!!!!!!!!! This is a beautifully mame in every sense of the word. I would actually contemplate about cutting a bit more...

That is a great little tree, really great. I love the tiny deadwood. Nice scale effect.

Hello shohin kid......I like both and I thin kthe second tree has much potential. Maybe give it a tilt and in a few years, after it has developed, it could go in a crescent rock pot...I would say that you should start deveolping that single pad to eventually get it to look like a whole tree....
