Manlion89’s 2020-25 azalea contest entry

Picked up this Chojuho azalea which was being used for propagation at a local Southern California nursery for $30 the first week of January. There is a really nice short fat trunk and solid root spread on it. Last weekend, I cut it back hard, cleaned up the roots, and planted in boon mix with a layer of spagnum moss on top. It has been 10 days and is already pushing new growth as the weather starts to warm up. Excited to this develop.

I love how long the flowers last on 'Chojuho' this is an interesting Satsuki.

Spring is here and your azalea could be blooming (depending on your location) or starting to leaf out with this season’s flush……it’s time for updates!
