I was given these maples by my grandad who is unable to work on his trees anymore, due to his poor memory over the past few years I’d like to confirm these trees are what he says they are.

On the lace leaf looking tree labeled as a seigen, I was also curious to know if an air layer would be possible on the long branch from the bottom, and when the right time to do that would be.

Thank you.

Seigen’ is a dwarf, cultivar with bright red new growth, and not a lace-leaf cultivar, so I’d say no, this isn’t Seigen.
Ukon’ is a yellow coral bark maple, so it’s a maybe to me.
Regardless, you have some provenance since they’re your grandfather’s, and that is pretty cool.

I don’t want them to die! He has more but I tried to grab the weakest looking trees first as the drive is a bit long. Thanks for your help.

Brian is right about the first one that it is not seigen, you will know more in the fall when leaves change. The second could be ukon if the leaves turn bright yellow in the fall otherwise it is not and the third is misspelled, it should be Inazuma and has purplish-red leaves that will turn crimson red in the fall. It should have 7 lobes and they should be longer.
