Okay, technically this was a project from a few weeks back, but it fits with today’s other posts, so here it is. Everything rusts in my garage, so a few years back I began making oilcloth hangers for my woodworking tools. Problem solved.
This is heavy-duty canvas from the hardware store, dyed black and treated with a 50/50 mix of boiled linseed oil and mineral sprits.
These tool rolls are a fun build, and pretty easy (if you know your way around a sewing machine), but be prepared to let yours air dry for a good long time, and be VERY careful with any rags you use for cleanup…they CAN and WILL spontaneously combust as the BLO/MS mixture dries.
Happy Memorial Day
