@bonhe I didn't want to steal your thread so I though I would post photos in a different thread. You can see the problem I am having I have to prune this guy ASAP.

Today, about one year later. I was being really careful with it because I transplanted it this spring and Bob Shimon had told me the roots were really fragile. Well, it seems to like southern California weather!
