Hello Bonsai people,

I wanted to ask you more about this product called Menedael. I googled it and the sparse pieces of information I found led me to understand that this is some sort of supplement for the oonsais; I read it's a "root & vitality booster" but couldn't find any details about the chemical composition. So i'm posting a picture and if there's anyone here who is willing enough to give it a look and translate it it would awesome.

Of course I'm also looking forward for people who used it first hand and have an opinion on it.

It's incredibly expensive here in Italy!

Thank you!

Leo

I see it everywhere, and it's really cheap. Seems like a "fix-all" solution.

Here's a quick translation:

Main uses:
-cuttings, splitting roots, repotting
-planting flower buds, vegetable buds
-planting fruit trees, flowering trees, garden trees
-scattering seeds, with root balls
-restoring weakened plants, garden trees
-cut flowers in water
-hydroculture and aquariums

-Standard concentration is 100x (50-200x)
-Water the entire root structure area. When planting bunches soak in solution and plant.
-Use solution once a week and adjust as needed.
-We will send you more details on usage for free or you can visit our homepage.

10ml + 1L water for 100x solution.

Says it is not a fertilizer nor a pesticide but includes double the iron ions? Fe++...
Whatever that means.

Fe-ions occur in two forms Fe2+ and Fe3+.
There are a lot of things it's not, but does it say what it is?

Describe the smell and color for me, and I can probably tell you the main ingredients.
Most of the European vitalisers contain B-vitamins and some amino acids, those usually smell like vitamin pills or a bit soy-sauce like. Color should be yellowish to brown.
Concentrated plant hormones tend to give a more poop-like smell. Especially IBA, because of the butyric acid that falls off when it degrades.
If it's green, then it's possibly a micro-nutrient solution.

The fact that it's in a brown container hints towards either hormones or vitamins. They tend to fall apart when exposed to light.

Maybe mostly Fulvic acid, Humic acid & Kelp. Does everything they say, safe, natural, abundant. Add some Fe2 or 3 which I speculate is a by-product that is cheaper than FeO4S and available and ipso, presto, a secret product.

In Italy where I purchased it they suggest me that the best use is to water your bonsai with it after a very hot summer or after a stressful repot.

Let me know your take on it after some usage!

I don't know how you can tell one way or the other if or how or where this stuff works, but I use it when I fert. I use two droppers-full which might be .1 gm in 2 1/5 gal water along with N, P, K, Epson Salts, Copperas, Fulmic, Humic, and Kelp. I think I'm providing the media with everything plants need and get reasonable growth. I don't know how to judge without having a control set to compare it to. Who can have a duplicate set of plants that they don't give all they can to grow nicely? I "feel" good about it, so I suppose it's all worth the costs. ?

I used it before but as @Forsoothe! said, its hard to find if it worked or not, but i have to say - nothing spectacular happened when i used it, either good or bad.
