I use an oleander hedge to block radiant heat from my walls. I let it grow all it wants in the summer and whack it back in winter.
I have a straggly potted Oleander I used to bring in every winter. This year it didn't make the cut, no room. Surprisingly, after multiple frosts, it's still OK. Guess it's tougher than I thought.

Yeah, oleander can deal with gentle frosts. You might loose the leaves and buds. But once it warms up, it might come back. Mine live in the garage a few weeks each year, but spend most of winter exposed. Only is we expext real frost (26 and below) do I shelter it. (And then leave if for a while as they are just too heavy)
