Please keep in mind I am not a grapher of photos.

That first photo in post 2 is a Blue Alps juniper, belongs to some friends in IA. They showed it at Nationals last year. She handles the trees, he handles the stands. Gary Wood works up there a few times a year.

The JBP 3-point below it is Michael Bonsai on FB, I think. Good work from that guy, though I think the pine should be on the left.

A tree on display inside.....it is many things. It is almost pretend, like a wax museum. Silent. Windless. Alive.

Not the best note taker either!

I'm closing with this amazing lil number from Mr. Bill V.
What an amazing transformation.

Dedication, with a side of perseverance, this is awesome!

Thanks for the photo's. It's nice to see some tree from the Midwest for a change.

It's the least I can do, for all you do for us, and what do they remember? Foemina.

Alain and I were talking about how few of us there are here.

To who does The Hidden Garden sell their trees? They still had a nice RMJ I think I saw last year.

Maybe I will start shipping for them!

Thanks for the photos! Looks like a great show!

Bonsai are tricky to photograph. Next time try standing back a little farther away, and using zoom to fill the frame. That will make it so that you're not "looking down" on the tree as much.

A couple of days ago I posted a report and few photos of this great show in my blog at:

Enjoy the beauty and creativity this fine long established exhibit offers. Better yet, join us next August for the 39th Mid America Bonsai Exhibit!

It's not the camera, it's the angle you photograph them from.

Yes Bill, that was an excellent report. Congrats on the Larch forest. Beautiful composition. Who's the potter, Bushuan?

Thanks Chicago Willows!

Excellent Photos!

See @JudyB , our show wasn't THAT much better, if at all!
I just shot the good ones!

I guess I did miss some!
I really love the literati spruce.
I was waiting for an old lady to walk by to shoot it, when I ran into "a really French dude, and a really Peruvian woman"!

Good times!

Thanks Sorce!

You know what? I had a god camera, didn't take one freaking picture! :)

For the best azalea of all time I have to respectfully disagree... ;) For me the best azalea of all time was a huge one (may be 2' tall, 1/2' diameter at the base) on the right back corner of the room. I have a pretty nice picture of it, in my mind...
Although I really liked the exposed roots one you posted here.

Next time I may actually use my camera ;)

Well look at that: despite the total lack of pictures and hence the lazy bastard behavior it implies my previous intervention promoted from Shohin to Chumono, isn't that nice :D
