Hi All. I have a couple of mimosa pudica aka sensitive plant, I am not referring to the persian silk plant.

I was wondering.. Are they perennial? If memory serves they are classified by wikipedia as annual or perennial? I would like to keep mine perennial, how do I do that, is it true that one does not let them flower?

TIA guys.

I got a little one at a flea market last summer. It bloomed and then died. I did harvest some seeds, so far no luck with those. Cool flowers though. mimosa.jpgmimosa 2.jpg

To get them to last more than a year, keep frost free. They are a die to the ground if frosted perennial.

Other mimosa and acacia species are used for a more tree like appearance. But Mimosa pudica is a cute plant, especially the way they keep moving around on you.
