Hello everyone :)

I just got a Norway Pusch Spruce that I am hoping to slowly make into a bonsai. It has a ton of small little white mites crawling all around the soil and seemingly burrowing and hiding in the cracks of the bark. I got the tree at a discount in hopes of saving it but the tree seems to be putting out new growth on its own at this point. It seems to be pretty healthy.

I don't know what they are but I took some pictures with the magnifying glass. I also have a microscope so I took some pictures under higher power magnification. I put it between two glass slides so its swimming in its own goo but you can still discern its anatomy.

Any help in discerning what it is and any advice on what to use to kill them is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much!

P.S. I know the tree is a "slingshot" at this point, but styling will come with time :)

Thank you very much.

I will spray with NEEM tomorrow.

You wouldn't happen to know, is it true that if you spray a tree with insecticide during the winter it will die?
