I haven't. But it looks a lot like a shaved down system I built for about 35-40 USD with arduino. If you follow the instruction to the letter, you can as well. Even if this is the first time you try and you know zilch about how this all works.
Ordering parts, building the system, installing the software, and copy+pasting the code will take around 4 hours in total.

With some computer savvy friends (even if they can only build websites) or some googling around you can even log data to an excel sheet, add a thermometer, a humidity sensor or add a couple more probes.
