Hiya folks,
So readings have the NPK for mature trees at around 6 to 8 N and 1 P 1 K, plus
micro nutrients.
Readings say a shortage of P is rare and can become toxic if too much is
applied as fertiliser.

Plus the trees here are mostly over 25 years going to 35 years.

So now the soil mix is moving towards -
8 to 9 parts inorganic and 2 to 1 part organic.

Taking the Miracle Gro lawn fertiliser down to 1/6 - about 6 N.

If needed we can also spoonful sprinkle back in some inorganic.
It will water in.

More or less following the oil seed meal with it's 6 to 8 N.
Just no interest in cakes, and it was tried.

Also no interest in totally inorganic as it feels like Hydroponics and
the tomatoes some years ago, would collapse under their own
weight.
And the microbial bit.

We have also seen what happens when wood grows too fast.
Had termite proof wood as hive bodies, go down really fast
under -------------- termites.

So the idea is to mimic nature.
Tree grows a trunk of 3 inches in a year [ observations from nature ]
and that is normal.
So no problems duplicating.
Refining branchlets, is slower, and that is fine as well.

Guess we will side entrance the world of Oil Seed Meal feeding.
Good Day
Anthony

I'm going hard as usual with fertilizing this season...
Strong mix, mixed on the heavy side, every Saturday, followed by light dose of fish on Sunday.

Worked well for my stuff last year!

I also water a lot, and use full inorgainic substrate on most trees, eventually all...
