Sort of Fall related... Little moth was in the same spot for at least 24 hours. I assumed it had died. It didn't appreciate it when I attempted removal. Wound up able to get some decent pics. They're usually too skittish for me to get in close.

Did you know that you can tell butterflies and moths apart by the way they hold their wings? Moths at rest keep them flat and butterflies hold them vertically. Your shy buddy looks like a Pieris of some kind (West Virginia White or cabbage white butterfly?) according to google.

I'll be danged, lol. All this time I just assumed they were moths. I could never get detailed shots so I sort of resigned myself to thinking it was a moth. I've actually put a fair amount of effort into learning about butterflies along with bonsai. I got really into monarch butterflies and a lot of other visitors became nice little bi products.

I know the title is pretty specific but I have tons of photos of all sorts of little insect visitors. I'll just use this thread rather than clogging the forums, heh.

Thank you. It's kinda cool sharing them. Year after year I keep collecting these pics and I'm more or less the only one that sees them, heh.
