This is my first time in this thread, which let me binge on its progress over the years in just a few minutes. It really has come quite a long way. The specimen has a beautiful trunk, especially near its base -- I'd love to collect a mountain hemlock like this. Although it's a bit covered in snow, your photo from this past week hints at a really successful pruning operation. In particular, I think reducing the weight of the apex made this look a lot more balanced, with an impression of alpine scraggle.
