Hello everyone,

I have had this mugo pine for a couple years, plodding along in the back of my garden. I have wired it to open it up, as it was flat to the ground.

I am after some advice...…. Is it worth bonsaiing? Does anyone have any ideas as to what they would do with it next? I'm not sure whether it will make a good bonsai. Ive never had a Mugo pine before or any type of pine. However I have watched a lot of research videos.

Does anyone with some experience have any tips or advice for me? I would be really grateful.

Cheers,

Wilko

Looks good, some close buds...

I'd think about future removal of that thick part, growing the lower stuff into your tree.
Seems to have some good movement and useful branch starts.

If you look at @Vance Wood progressions, the material isn't so different to begin with.

Deweed that beeeeeoch!
