Hi guys. I just purchased 3 very large Mugo Pines that I will be picking up from the nursery within the next couple weeks. Right now they are all balled and burlapped and sitting in beds of mulch. So far from briefly researching, it sounds like late summer is the best time to repot Mugo Pine... maybe?

My question is, how should I handle the root systems between now and repotting time? Can I leave them lying on the ground with the roots tied up, or should I try to bury them a bit in mulch until the time comes? Looking for any solutions you guys might have.

Thanks!

Don't! Lol!

For real though....I'd consider bagging the one that needs the most Growth.
Leaving one as is.
And potting one on summer.

@sorce. What do you mean by bagging?

Also, I forgot to add that they look to be in primarily heavy clay. That will be a lot of fun!

A grow bag.
They sound big enough.

I'd hose the clay out.

Maybe get some other nursery mugo soil to restart your bios.
