Mugo pine with drop branch

I scored this very nice mugo pine yesterday. The previous owner styled and maintained it for 11 years.

Wonderful! I like how you set the initial structure. The pads will have a good start. Are you planning on applying any wood hardener/sealant on the deadwood as well during repot?

Thanks! I'm probably going to treat the deadwood with a mix of lime sulphur and ash or ink.

Repotted this one last week, as the buds were swelling. Chose a Chinese rectangular pot. Maybe a little different, but I like the contrast to the more slender, elegant tree.

The wire was just starting to bite in. I removed it and everything stayed more or less in position.
