I'm glad @Bonsai Nut posted those pictures.Thank's. I just recently cut the top back. Wish I hadn't now.

Believe it or not, I think you are going to love this tree when it is about 30-40% taller :) From this point forward, try to treat the upper half of the trunk like a broom style tree. Keep pushing for more and more ramification, and keep spreading it wider and wider. If it grows upwards too much, consider wiring those branches horizontally instead of cutting them off.

The way you make it wider is pretty simple. Wait till a new shoot comes out of the end of the branch and wire it when it gets to the length you want. Just keep doing this as the buds pop out. Amazing how fast you can do this if the buds pop out where you want them. They ramify naturally. Its keeping the shape once there set is what sucks. Starting to like this little tree more and more.

Ah.
You should take a look at repotting it with a little turn counterclockwise, as the picture from that angle looks sexier to me.
Cant wait to see it in a thinner pot. The picture you see would need to be turned clockwise for that angle.

Good example of how to widen a flat top canopy. Each time a new shoot grows out you wire it. Later the gaps will fill in and the top will be as wide as you want it.

Finally slowed down growing at the moment. Lots of clouds and off and on rain. Top has grown out a lot. Tree itself has gotten bigger. Starting to like the looks of the domed top.

Brought this little tree in today. Cleaned the trunk and pulled down the outside of the canopy some more. Also cleaned up the jin and lime sulfured them. Looks pretty good for this time of year. Surprised it hasn't lost more leaves.

@c54fun

Have you ever tried the dunk method of watering your BRTs?... I tried this for 2 or 3 waterings, and they seemed to REALLY dislike this method... was wondering if you've had the same experience...

No I haven't tried that with the rain trees but when it starts getting real hot here I put a layer of sphagnum moss on the top layer. Helps a lot.
