My Azalea and Rhododendron

Hey - I have two of these in my front yard, and then a larger tree in backyard with more purple flowers that i think is more classic rhododendron.
I think Nova Zembla for the front, not sure on backyard.

The backyards is PJM Elite i believe, more purple.

Going to look into possibility of creating some bonsais from them after seeing some mention of them and this
from online

this is my first house as of 3 years ago, i believe these plants could be old, the house was built in 1956
and they appear to be as large or large than max heights listed for these online.

unless i find a checkbox for keeping aspect ratio of pics on this forum in the edit section (still on see that and ive been on message boards for 15 years or so -this one seems quality-
but having trouble with pic sizes) ill just leave these large

The flowers of those Rhodies are nice. The leaves are a bit large, and will never reduce to the proportions needed for bonsai. You can make a pleasant houseplant with them. But the leaves will always leave you with a proportion issue as bonsai.
