here is a nursery Banyan ( Ficus microcarpa ) tree i just bought. i removed all the soil by carefully picking at it and washing it away so as not to damage anything
then i wired it to a rock and replanted it in a big pot up to the original soil level where i plan to leave it a few months to recover from the move.
then i'll gradually start to remove the surface soil to expose the rock and hopefully get more roots draping over the rock.
