My big Yew

So.. Dont think I showed this before. I was visiting a friend in fall. His neighbour had a week or so before pulled out some old yews. With a lot of cursing the two of us got one of them in my car. Here is to hoping it lives..

When you collect big yews what substrate do you put them in?

Considering this one was pulled from the ground with a tractor, chainsawed to a stump and then left laying about in a field without any fine roots, and just stumps, I decided to, after cutting the worst broken stumps off, nature knows best. And I planted it in my very sandy garden. Watering every few days.

I think pure bims is recommended normally.
