Cute, bougies are my fav. Learning not to overwater is the hard part. And they rebel when brought in for the winter. But the flowers are worth it to me.
I have not seen a flower on this tree ever...
I've tried keeping it very root bound in a small pot....tried letting it dry frequently....tried no fertilizer for months....cant do it.....
I've let it shoot out to 8 pairs of leaves or so.....and still no flowers.

I put it into this larger pot this spring....and its in a much coarser substrate now.
I'm planning to let it run this once indoors this year and hope for some color to brighten up my winter.

That's frustrating. What variety is it? For me the purple ones seem reluctant to bloom. Maybe try some Bougain or Miracle-Gro bloom booster. Letting it run is probably a good idea, as they bloom on new growth.

I think its a pink pixie....but I'm not 100% sure....
I went an bent it up too...
Hope its ok....😵😶
If it dies from this, I'll call it even for years of not blooming while trying every trick in the book.
If it survives the bending, which I think it will, I didn't hear any cracking, I'll let it run free till next spring....unless it gets unruly.

Bougie has some leaves getting yellowish, like a deficiency of sorts...

Any good ideas?
I'm probably gonna try watering in a bit of Epsom salt....worked in the past when my azalea looked like that.

Epsom salts should brighten it up, maybe if you can find bougain try that too.
When mine get like that I give them a good feed and maybe a round of humus or seaweed extract and then defoliate them. The new growth comes through fine generally then. I don't know if your climate will sustain a defoliation this late in the season though.

Thanks starfox!
Yeah I'll leave the leaves on for now.
Gonna be bringing it in for the winter in a few weeks I think.
May defoliate indoors.

A dose or two of Miracid should green the leaves back up.

Out of it right now....it got a heavy dose of 20-20-20 (with micronutrients) today.
I gotta re-up!
Call me crazy but i really like the knobbyness* of the trunk. Adds alot of character.
Thanks!
BIP!

Do it on the transition!

Got a string of nights calling for 40's F, coming up tomorrow.
Figured I'd bring in my trops....
Trying out the full spectrum lamps this year....gonna add the white grow lights as well soon.
Life has been busy and I haven't obtained any Epsom salt yet.... The heavy dose of fert did not help the leaf color....but it looks like I'm finally gonna see some flowers soon! First bloom ever, in at least 3 years!...maybe 4.
Brought it in and leaf pruned, keeping leaves near the forming flowers.
