My first hornbeam from @19mateo83

My hornbeam is withering in the summer heat despite my keeping it in part shade and out of the midday / afternoon harsh sun plus careful watering.
What should I do now? Repot it in soil with more organic to keep the roots from drying out?

Uncle, I have similar issues with my Korean Hornbeam so I don't think you can do much other than nurse it through the heat. Maybe next year, it will have more roots which might help with leaf burn.

It will just have to struggle this year. Next year it will be back up north with me.

Repotting it now would be a death sentence for it. Just keep it wet and in the shade and maybe add some bark/mulch to cover the soil or pot it in it’s pot in a larger pot…. That’s about all you can do. Hoping the heat breaks soon for ya.

I water my hornbeam 3 times a day and they can still get crispy - I have pretty much all organics with hornbeam
