So I have a bit of used 12 gauge house wire that I can use for bonsai. I have tried multiple methods and built a couple jigs that were recommended on YouTube and was not satisfied with any of them. Yesterday, I had to strip some wire for my Mayhaws. I found out that I can strip wire so easily by using my grafting knife with a curved blade. The tip of the curved blade can split the Romex easily. Then for each strand I just have to press the curved blade on the wire resting on top of my granite repotting table. The slick granite allows me to pull the wire through at a fast clip to strip the wire. No more stripping jig for me.

I tie it to a pole, pull the wire tight with my left hand and the boxcutter blade in my right hand can strip about 3 foot per stroke. Sometimes I get that glide like a scissor through paper.
You use a table, I use tensile strength.

The only sucky part is to clean up the shavings. And that I'm an ass hat sometimes and had cut towards my hand a couple years ago.. hit the bone. Oh well, lesson learned.

2 sets of pliers. Grip wire with one, pull/tear plastic off with the other.
