So - I'm pretty new at Bonsai but learning a lot very fast. Today, I dug up this Lantana in my front yard. It has been exposed to direct wind for many years, and it was actually growing sideways because of that. It twists and turns all over the place. It is a double trunk plant, and I was hoping I could separate them when I dug it up. When I got it out of the ground, it almost fell into two pieces so that was good. Learned one important thing during the process. While I knew the branches are brittle and break easily, the roots are also, so had to be very careful. One plant seemed to have good roots, but the other has all the roots only on one side. Got the two plants potted up and I think they have a lot of potential. I haven't styled them at all. It's still hot here in the Desert (90 degrees F) so I'll probably wait for a while to see how they go.
